Celebrating Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2025
To kick off the 8th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2025, a special program was organized by the Poshan Project Kot Bhalwal. This event took place in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre and the Government Ayurvedic Hospital. Key themes of the event included addressing obesity, promoting local resources, and highlighting the importance of nutrition for children and mothers.
The program was inaugurated by Sh. Sher Singh, the Additional District Development Commissioner of Jammu. Also present were Swami Yajnadharananda Ji, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, and Sh. Pankaj Anand, District Programme Officer for Mission POSHAN Jammu.
Activities Promoting Health and Nutrition
Numerous activities enriched the day, including expert speeches, a Swasth Balak Pratiyogita (Healthy Child Competition), and nutrition awareness stalls. Health checkups and free medicine distributions were conducted to support community members.
Sh. Sher Singh emphasized that “Nutrition is crucial for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.” He voiced the need for community involvement during this month-long celebration of nutrition awareness.
Sh. Pankaj Anand also addressed attendees, stressing the importance of the Poshan Maah to deepen community involvement and ensure better health outcomes for all.
